And the beat goes on...
World Bride Magazine|Fall 2022
The work-life-balance scenario is one we're all trying to compose successfully, however it's easier for some more than others. Working your dream job goes a long way towards fulfilling the balance, as experienced first-hand by UK wedding DJ, Terry Lewis.

And the beat goes on...

"I started DJing when I was just 14 years old and living on Chalk Hill Estate in Wembley," reflects Terry. "I was asked by a friend to DJ for his party and since it was a hobby of mine, I was keen to give it a bash. Since then I've not looked back and my hobby has become a full-blown career."

His deep affection for music and dance, was the motive Terry needed to leave his London job in corporate finance and set up a company called Salsa Chillout in his 30's, and from there he moved into weddings.

Now 58 years old and still as fervent as ever on the scene, Terry has not only enjoyed a successful and lucrative business as a wedding DJ, but he's also won a string of awards across the UK too. "I currently hold eight awards.

I first won a local accolade, for 'The Best in Essex 2012', which was followed with another seven of which two I prize highly, the 'Best in England' and 'Best Internationally'.

I've now moved behind the curtain and in 2015, I became a judge for the Wedding Industry Awards" So, what is the magic ingredient that keeps Terry at the top of the UK's wedding DJ rankings? He believes it's a blend of his attention to customer service, by curating the right sound selection, while always making sure he exceeds the bride and groom's expectations, with a promise to give them their money back if their needs are not met. Some would say this is a risky manoeuvre in any business, however, it has served Terry well and to date his popularity has soared and the wedding grapevine sings his name in all the right circles.
