You want to spiff up your table before guests arrive but realize you're all out of furniture polish
10 brilliant uses for BEER

1 Add shine to wood furniture

The fast save: Soak a soft cloth in flat beer and use it to wipe the surface of the table. Then follow up by buffing with a clean, dry cloth. The drink's foam loosens dust, the color from the malt brings out wood's hue and the alcohol adds a like-new sheen.

2 Eliminate a slug problem

The easy way to protect the precious plants in your garden from hungry slugs: Fill a disposable foil pie plate with flat beer and place it near plants where you see the pests. Slugs and snails will be attracted to the smell of the beer so they'll crawl in the pan, but will be unable to escape.

3 Reveal a glowing complexion

You can skip expensive face masks and brighten skin with this low-cost alternative: Mix ¹/2 cup of flat beer it (its B vitamins, yeast and hops dissolve dead, dry cells), 1 egg white (its protein tightens skin) and 2 tsp. of lime juice (a natural bleaching agent that lightens discoloration). Apply the mix to your face and let sit for 10 minutes before rinsing. Gorgeous!

4 Remove a tea stain fast
