20 ways to live GREENER

Celebrate Earth Day on April 22 by adopting these sustainable lifestyle hacks that benefit your budget and the planet
20 ways to live GREENER

1. MAKEOVER YOUR BEAUTY ROUTINE

Are you still buying single-use cleansing pads, make-up remover wipes or plastic razors? It’s time to ditch the disposables! Making the switch to reusable make-up disks, cotton flannels and metal razors will not only significantly reduce your waste, but your wallet will thank you too. Look for products with recyclable or biodegradable packaging, or packaging made from sustainable materials like glass, metal or paper. Avoid products with excess packaging. Do your research and choose brands that are committed to sustainability and reducing their environmental impact, and keep an eye out for fair trade or cruelty-free certifications to support brands that align with your values.

2. GET WINTER-READY

Winter is a time when many people use a lot of energy to heat their homes. You can reduce your energy consumption by sealing drafts around windows and doors this autumn. If possible, opt for energy-efficient heating options such as heat pumps.

3. GO PAPERLESS

Go paperless by paying bills online and receiving digital statements instead of paper copies.

4. EAT A PLANT-BASED DIET

Plant-based diets are more environmentally sustainable than diets that rely heavily on animal products, because animal agriculture is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions, land degradation and water pollution. Why not switch to a plant-based diet or integrate meat-free Mondays into your family’s routine?

5. CUT THE WASTE
