Prince Harry’s pals thought he was “nuts” for dating US actress Meghan Markle because she disapproved of their jokes.
Meanwhile, Meghan became hysterical when Buckingham Palace reacted with fury to her talking about her relationship with Harry in Vanity Fair.
And the Queen was relieved when the duchess did not attend the funeral of her husband Prince Philip.
These are just some of the bombshell claims made in an explosive new book about Harry and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, by author Tom Bowers.
Former investigative journalist Tom, who has previously delved into the lives of Richard Branson, Boris Johnson, Tony Blair and Prince Charles for unauthorised biographies, spent a year talking to both friends and enemies of Harry and Meghan for the book Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsors, which was published last week.
The California-based couple were said to be dreading the publication, knowing that Tom, 75, has been dubbed the “Witchfinder General of contemporary biographies”.
“Tom doesn’t pull any punches and is terrifyingly thorough in his research,” says a publishing insider. “No stone is left unturned.”
Among Tom’s claims is the shocking assertion that the Queen, 96, didn’t want Meghan at Philip’s funeral in April last year. When aides told Her Majesty Meghan wouldn’t be making the trip from the US, her response was, “Thank goodness,” writes Tom.
