Matthew Misener was a kind-hearted, devoted father to his three young children.

At age 35, he lived a happy life with his new fiancée in Arizona, having split with his ex-wife, Georgina, in 2017.

Meeting in 2011, they were living proof of the term ‘opposites attract’, and went on to marry just two years later.

While Matthew was introverted and came from a stable, loving home, Georgina was outgoing and loud, and had a troubled past.

Georgina’s father had abused her mother during her childhood, and later ended up going to prison.

So, this informed a lot of decisions growing up.

In her senior year, Georgina dropped out of school, misusing drugs and ending up in rehab.

When she and Matthew met, she had turned a new leaf following two years of sobriety.

The couple had two children together by 2017, with another one on the way.

Only, things just weren’t quite right, and they could only play happy families for so long.

Matthew had recently taken up a job at the Morenci Mine, and his long hours meant the family barely spent any time together.

Eventually, they divorced, with Georgina moving back to her parents in Tucson, and Matthew staying put.

It had been a long time coming, and Matthew, wanting to stay on good terms, pleaded to be cordial in terms of custody – their third child was born in December 2017.

But Georgina was set on making things difficult.
