COME ON IN!
ABOUT ME I’m Laurie Davidson, an interior stylist and content creator (@lifeofan interiorstylist) and I live here with my boyfriend Wayne, and our two cats Chas and Dave. Our home is a four-bedroom 1930s semi in Epsom, Surrey, and we moved here in 2010.
MY CHALLENGE The office was one of the first rooms we decorated when we moved in and it was done quite cheaply. It was pretty bland really, with white walls and a really ugly storage unit. My aim was for it to feel more ‘me’ and be an attractive place to work.
MY WISH LIST I wanted the room to feel warm and cosy, and as I love everything ‘country’ I wanted it to have a Western vibe. Storage was a must, along with a nice backdrop for taking online meetings.
I’ve always loved country style,’ says Laurie, ‘everything about it, from the music to cowboy boots. And when I went on a US road trip with friends and stayed on a ranch, it solidified my love of that type of cosy decor with warm woods, rugged qualities and rustic textures.
I think I was born in the wrong country really! Fast-forward a few years and I knew exactly what look I wanted for my new home office scheme.
