Can rainy November weddings still be magical?
The People's Friend|November 05, 2022
CHLOE was watching the rain despondently - it had been pouring  all week and didn't look like stopping.

Can rainy November weddings still be magical?

"When we decided to be wedding planners I hadn't really thought about the rainy November weddings," she said.

"Have you talked to the bride?" her sister Alice asked grumpily, following Chloe's gaze.

"I've tried," Chloe said, "but she's adamant."

"Riverside weddings are all very well, but she can't arrive knee-deep in mud!"

"She lives in that cottage by the lock.

"She thought it would be romantic to walk along the towpath to the hotel for the wedding.

"It's got the most gorgeous lawns that sweep down to the river. . ."

"You're as bad as she is," Alice snapped. "In summer that would be lovely, but in November it's hopeless.

"Unless she's willing to be wheeled in a shopping trolley, it's not possible.

"She must know someone with a car who could step in.

"I've suggested that," Chloe snapped back. "It 'lacks romance'.

"And there's no need to be so bad-tempered with me, it's not my fault it's raining."

"Never mind romance! I want her to arrive clean and dry! Think of our reputation!"

"Doesn't Peter have a rather smart white Jag?" Chloe asked, referring to Alice's boyfriend.
