There are currently 13 million women in the UK who are perimenopausal or menopausal, according to the NHS. And, of these, 85% are experiencing symptoms. But it’s not just hot flushes and vaginal dryness that you need to watch for. And eat oily fish, avocados and nuts to increase your healthy fat intake. ‘Omega3s and monounsaturated fats create a barrier to protect skin and stop it from drying out, plus fight inflammation,’ adds dietician Sophie Medlin.
