It’s been almost 20 years since he hung up his football boots. But Jamie Redknapp is still kept well and truly on his toes thanks to his role on sports-based game show, A League of Their Own. In the latest Road Trip series, the two teams, including fellow former footballers Jill Scott and Micah Richards, and comedians Mo Gilligan and Maisie Adam, head to sunny Mexico. Here, Jamie, 50, explains why the experience is one he’ll ‘never forget’...
Hi Jamie! You’re returning for your eighth Road Trip series, what makes you keep coming back for more?
There’s something about travelling that I’ve always loved. All of a sudden, I’m going to places I never knew existed. As much as I love the filming, I almost enjoyed the evenings just as much, where we all went out for dinner and might have had a nice tequila, being in Mexico… Getting to be there with Jill, Micah, Mo and Maisie was great, and it’s fun getting to meet different people. Road Trip has become a big part of my life now.
Had you ever visited Mexico before?
