Consider yourself a happy person. Sadly, even the most cheerful of us won’t feel that way all of the time. It’s unrealistic – especially if you’re having to contend with health fears, family stress, employment uncertainty, or money worries. The good news is that injecting more happiness into your life is easier than you think – it simply requires modifying your mindset.
‘Happiness is a feeling, meaning it’s fleeting and changeable,’ says functional medicine certified health coach Suzy Glaskie. ‘While some degree of our happiness is set by our genetics (experts estimate between 10% and 50%), the rest is down to us. We can learn to be happier, just as we can learn to play a musical instrument or speak a foreign language.’
