N icola Thorp, 35, is famous for playing Nicola Rubinstein on Coronation Street. But she first came to my attention as a TV rival.
She and Jeremy Kyle were the faces of Talk TV’s breakfast programme Talk Today – airing when Eamonn Holmes and I were trying to win the nation’s attention to our show!
I had friends working at Talk, and I heard that Nicola was a really good egg. I followed her on social media – and instantly saw she had a big conscience and wasn’t afraid to speak out. I liked what I saw.
