It’s not just 20-somethings who want a toned, firm bum. After all, having strong glutes not only helps us look and feel great in our summer wardrobe (yes, you can wear those shorts!) but is also key for keeping our bodies moving in the way they should. Even something as simple as going from sitting to standing requires a strong behind.
‘Maintaining muscle tone can be more challenging as we age, but it’s definitely achievable with the right approach,’ says personal trainer Rachael Sacerdoti, founder of It’s So Simple (Instagram @itssosimple_rs). ‘Simply walking, running and taking the stairs can improve overall muscle tone and cardiovascular health.’
And what about cellulite? Regular exercise can really help here too, says Rachael. Getting that heart working will help enhance your circulation and reduce the appearance of orange peel.

Want a pert bum? Avoid these common mistakes…
NOT MOVING

POOR POSTURE
Slouching can weaken glute muscles.
