The fiery debates some topics can create between panellists are one of the reasons Loose Women is such a well-loved show. And with a roster of strong, opinionated individuals in the cast list, it’s hardly surprising that sometimes things can get heated.
But one topic seemed to hit a nerve with Coleen Nolan, who appeared to take aim at anchor Christine Lampard as they discussed whether attractive people live longer – even branding Christine ‘ugly’.
Coleen, 59, seemed irked as she grimaced at the camera and dramatically threw her hands in the air when Christine, 45, led the debate about those who are more attractive apparently living longer lives. Coleen then sarcastically asked Christine, ‘Are you going to press that button?’ Christine tried to appease Coleen by saying that some of the most beautiful people can be ‘very dull’. But, clearly still narked, Coleen suggested that the anchor was one of those ‘dull’ people, asking her, ‘Are you still talking?’ and pretending to snore. The singer added that, to her, personality is more important than looks, explaining, ‘I think beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I’ve been out with some dodgy-looking guys in my time. But they’ve really made me laugh and therefore the whole attractiveness comes into it of the overall person.’ And when Christine praised her, saying, ‘Well said,’ Coleen jibed, ‘All right, ugly, get on with it.’
