Host a street party

GET THE WORD OUT

Call on neighbours, print out flyers or start a WhatsApp group to keep the neighbourhood informed of your street’s plans. Then set the date and time over the long weekend (6-8 May).

SHARE TASKS

Nominate ‘organisers’ to deal with the party planning and be the main point of contact for the neighbourhood. Ask around to see whether anyone can provide entertainment, a music system or any other services.

SORT OUT LOGISTICS

Some councils require you to make an application to host an official street party and, if you need a temporary road closure, you’ll need to notify your council at least six weeks in advance. Visit gov.uk to find out more.
