My daughter Adriana, nine, is fashion mad. She knows all the designer brands and can recognise a Louis Vuitton handbag at 100 paces. As such, she's always giving me fashion advice, saying I need to jazz up my wardrobe. 'You're so un-iconic, Mum!' is her refrain.
She begged and begged to dress me in a few days' worth of outfits. Was I really that brave? I'm a beige polo neck and smart jeans kind of woman. I'm 45 for goodness' sake. My daughter's idols wear threads of material as tops, I like an M&S cashmere jumper. Still, I fancied a giggle. Here's how we got on...
Look one
Black hoodie, beige miniskirt, black fingerless faux-leather gloves and trainers
Adriana and I go shopping. 'This is fantastic!' she squeals as I try on a micro-skirt that looks more like a belt, a huge hoodie and fingerless, leather-look gloves.
Back home, when my husband Cornel, 42, catches sight of me, he spits his tea out. 'You look like an overgrown teenager!' It's how I feel too. But the task is to wear this stuff and so I wander around the local shops, hoping no one recognises me.
When I get home, I jam the clothes into an already burgeoning bag destined for the charity shop. Maybe someone else will love them more than me.
Look two
Black crop top, black baseball cap and chocolate leather-look trousers

'THAT'S NOT MY BABY'
Lying in the hospital bed, my husband Michael had tears of happiness in his eyes as he showed me a photo on his phone. 'Here she is,' he said proudly. 'This is our beautiful baby girl.'I stared at the photo and shook my head. 'No, that's not my baby,' I said. 'There must be a mistake.'It was August 2010 and I'd not long before had an emergency caesarean. I'd not had a chance to see Winnie when she arrived as she'd been whisked away for tests because she was nearly two months premature.
