After heiress Paris Hilton gave birth via surrogate, we look at other celebs who've done the same

After giving birth to son James in 2002, Sex and the City star Sarah and actor husband Matthew Broderick tried for years to fall pregnant again before welcoming twin girls Tabitha and Marion via surrogate in 2009. At the time the star, now 57, heartbreakingly admitted, 'We tried and tried and tried and tried to get pregnant; it just was not to be. I would give birth if I could.'

Last month, Hilton hotel chain heiress Paris melted hearts when she shared a snap of her and a baby's hand, as she revealed she'd welcomed her first child. The reality star, 42, captioned the post, 'You are already loved beyond words,' adding, 'It's always been my dream to be a mother... Our hearts are exploding with love for our baby boy?' Paris has been open about her struggle to conceive naturally and told fans that she and husband Carter Reum - who wed in November 2021- had begun IVF treatment during the pandemic. Thankfully, the wonders of science and an amazing surrogate have helped Paris' dream come true.
