You can't beat this recipe in the comfort food stakes. Add a poached egg on top for extra sauciness.
- Parsley leaves
1. Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onions until soft. Stir in the smoked paprika and cook for 30 secs before adding the garlic. Cook for 1 min, stirring continuously.
2. Tip in the cannellini beans and add the bay leaves, thyme 2 leaves and tomatoes, plus a tin of water, the barbecue sauce to taste, the brown sauce and a good seasoning of salt and pepper. Cook for 20 mins and serve on toasted sourdough or in a jacket potato, with fresh parsley leaves.
TIP If you have an air fryer, they’re great for speeding up the process of baking potatoes.
