She’s been on our TV screens for an incredible 30 years, so how does Amanda Holden still look like she’s in her 30s? The actor, presenter, and Britain’s Got Talent judge says it’s all about the attitude.
Amanda married her music producer partner Chris in 2008, who she describes as her ‘best friend’, and the couple shares two daughters, Lexi, 16, and Hollie, 10.
Amanda tells us why she refuses to conform when it comes to fashion and reveals the one thing in her wardrobe she’ll never get rid of.
You’re passionate about wearing what you want, when you want, irrespective of age, aren’t you?
I am and we have to educate the rest of the world that it’s OK. To do that, you have to ignore everybody else because you own your body, you own your purse strings, and the way you spend your money. The only way to change things is to not give a damn. I think all the women I engage with are like that and hopefully, by reading about and seeing us, other women feel championed and brave enough to take a few risks, whatever their age or body shape. My gran got to a certain age where she stopped dying her hair and wearing mascara because she thought it looked ‘tarty’. I said ‘Whose rules are you following?’ My mum has stopped wearing mascara now and I say ‘Mum, you’ve got really straight lashes, you need mascara!’
