GLAMPING...with a twist!

A weekend at Fern Valley Ranch on the NSW Central Coast is camping like no other

Whether you're looking for a peaceful escape or a family-friendly adventure that everyone will enjoy, a weekend farm experience could be just the ticket. Just a short one-hour drive from both Sydney and Newcastle, Fern Valley Ranch in Somersby is the perfect spot for families wishing to retreat from the city and immerse themselves in the countryside.

This multi-purpose property offers traditional non-powered camping sites, suitable for campervans and tents, bathroom and shower facilities, and a unique option to stay in a converted bus - which is exactly what we did!

With two three-year-olds in tow, the idea of sleeping on a bus was a huge drawcard - not only for the obvious novelty (and being able to sit in the driver's seat) but also for the ease. It's camping without the enormous coordination effort.

The old school bus has been thoughtfully refurbished with a full-functioning and well-equipped kitchen, including a fridge (no eskies necessary!), shower and toilet, a queen bed and two bunks, dining table and a front deck that looks over the lily pond, where ducks frequently congregate.
