Making paper patterns

On a photocopier, enlarge the patterns by 360%, then place under folded tracing paper, matching the broken lines on the bib and tie to the fold, and draw out the outlines. Mark the arrows, notches and the position for the Velcro. Cut out all the patterns and open out flat.

Cutting out

From patterned jersey fabric, cut one pair of bloomers and ties. From interfacing, plain jersey and terry towelling, cut one bib.

Note: Join pieces with right sides facing. Stitch on sewing machine using a ballpoint needle.

Making the bloomers

Note: Take a 1.5cm seam allowance. Stitch the centre and crotch seams with a narrow zigzag stitch to allow the seams to stretch.
