With 2024 marking the Year of the Camel, this month’s first cover sees HRH Princess AlJoharah bint Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud proudly wearing her father’s archived bisht, posing alongside Saudi Arabia’s national animal against the rock formations of AlUla. After an abrupt departure from the world of fashion in 2020, Halima Aden is back on the cover of Vogue. But this time, on her own terms, and never forgetting where she comes from. It is not a coincidence that this small but unforgettable village in Africa was selected as the backdrop for Halima Aden’s first cover shoot after she unexpectedly exited the fashion industry in 2020. Now we see Aden’s story being written again, but on her own terms, and right in front of our eyes. Wearing a delicate, white Chanel lace dress (with an underbody and a classic veil, of course), she is posing next to a beautiful Moroccan door – blue, as everything else around us.

In the pages of the January issue, we also take a look back at the biggest event of our year, the Ball of Arabia, which took place at Dubai’s dreamy Jumeirah Mina A’Salam on December 15. Honoring three divas of Arabia who paved the way for future generations of entertainers – namely Egyptian actor Nabila Ebeed, Tunisian singer Latifa, and Lebanese model and Miss Universe Georgina Rizk – the star-studded celebration was, in true Vogue fashion, an unforgettable evening.
