Home on the Grange: New-build 4-6-0 Betton Grange‘s busy winter schedule has resulted in it stealing the show at two January steam galas. Despite these lines both being in Leicestershire and less than 20 miles apart, each reported incredible footfall as enthusiasts sought out a post-New Year steam fix. Owen Hayward reports on these two successful events.


Alright on the Wight: season starts with a quad of celebrations: 
As it opened its doors for the start of the 2025 operating season, the Isle of Wight Steam Railway took part in Railway 200 celebrations with a four-day gala that welcomed back one old friend and marked the long service of another. Owen Hayward crossed the Solent to discover what was taking place.
