Well spring has definitely sprung in the UK with the warmest February in history. A new experience for us. Another new experience was to be included in the launch issue of Don Johnson’s new Magazine, sharing the cover with other influential women supporting the kustom paint industry and the artists that inhabit it. 

The more eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed a few cool changes to our logo too. More enhancements are planned over the next few issues and we look forward to the forthcoming helmet special in issue 74.  

After a long wait we are delighted our cover artist Nick Lee from Counts Kustoms found time in his busy schedule for us. Meanwhile in this issue we have great how to’s from Gerald Mendez and John Silverfox Hayes. Seth Jensen embraces his Sharpie side. As always we search the globe for new talent and we are confident whether you read us in digital or in print we will continue our efforts to bring you inspiration on every page.

Our fabulous 12th Anniversary edition is packed full of inspirational art and artists, how to from Steve Chaszeyka for aspiring pinstripers, with a multi media Fridge project from Matt Beckner with airbrushing and pinstriping, plus the first part of the phenomenal Gerald Mendez Radiant Art. In the UK 2018 has celebrated 100 years of the Representation of the People Ascot which gave certain women over 30 the right to vote.  So it is only fitting that as we close out 2018 we dedicate this edition to some of the amazingly talented female artists around the world.   

Gracing our front cover, the work of Marissa Oosterlee of the Netherlands, check out pinstriping by Julz and Brenda Kellison.  We embrace the lowbrow art of Donna Lowson and Emily Whitingham plus meet up again with Jenny Mayberry and Michelle Roe and many more.

This issue is our ‘skate’ edition and we’ve crammed it with fabulous decks, some hand painted, some pinstriped and airbrushed as well as a step by step airbrushed deck from Jen Mayberry. We catch up with Tammy from Tamco Custom Colors to find out the winners of their very own skate deck art contest which took place recently. We’ve thrown in some other stuff too, like the spectacular ‘steampunked’ van by Wayne Harrison, awesome ‘Kustom Kontrollers’ and our wonderful body artist, Brad de la Torre. We catch up with Sweet Jane at Letterheads 2018 in London, Paul Waring shares all the fun of Wildest Cats in Town and we find out what the charity ‘shitbox art auction’ is all about!
