Misguided "mercy release" of wildlife is the focus of this issue following the SPCAâs rescue of 244 red-eared sliders at a Hong Kong beach. Also included: Hong Kongâs bid to ban the ivory trade; preventing leptospirosis in dogs; and safety tips for dogs when hill-walking. The children's page features our animal-welfare artwork contest exhibition and craft workshops for parents and children.

Pawprint is a quarterly newsletter published by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Hong Kong and is distributed to approximately 30,000 readers who are concerned about animal welfare issues or are interested in learning about and promoting responsible pet ownership.
Pawprint offers interesting articles on a variety of topics which range from veterinary health issues and animal rescue work to animal welfare programmes and happy adoption stories. In doing so it highlights the Societyâs efforts within the local community and in mainland China to minimise animal suffering.
Each issue features a unique cover story on a compelling and important animal issue, provides facts and tips on pet care, offers news of animal events and also now includes an educational childrenâs corner.
