When I took the fateful decision to enter into the world of menâs lifestyle and fashion publication, there were at least seven other titles vying for the same space and audience.Fast forward to today, a good 15 years later, and DAMAN is the last title left standing in this category. And itâs going stronger than ever. As cliched as it might sound, I couldnât have done it without youâour partners, our loyal readers and subscribers, and everybody who believed that DAMAN has something to offer to the world. It goes without saying the road up to this point hadnât been and easy, but I like to believe that is exactly why DAMAN has grown so much since its inception. We started out as a simple, Indonesia-based title, but we had big plans, big ambitions. We quickly set up our L.A. office and scoured the world for contributorsâfrom New York and London, to Paris, Singapore, Sydney and beyond. Our pages have been graced by some of Indonesiaâs biggest names in both entertainment and fashion, as well as the rising stars of Hollywood, world-class designers and the most celebrated models from all the four fashion capitals. Even as DAMANâs print editions grew stronger, our presence in the digital sphere also grew. For one, our dedicated websiteâdaman.co.idânow hosts content from the magazine as well as exclusive online features, to say nothing of the videos we produce to accompany every edition. Today, more than a third of our online traffic come from outside of Indonesia, as we share our passion and craft with an increasingly global audience. As DAMAN settles in its âteenageâ years and sets its sight to the future, I can promise you that we will continue to be a foremost voice of trends and style, on both a national and global level.
