Desh 17 February 2023 celebrates and commemorates the 125th birth anniversary of the great German poet and playwright Bertolt Brecht (1898-1956). The five essays in this issue on the life, works and influence of Brecht are written by eminent Bengali thespians and practitioners of Brechtian theatre/ theory— Rudraprasad Sengupta, Ashok Mukhapadhyay, Subharanjan Dasgupta, Suman Mukhapadhyay and Sekhar Samaddar. The issue also carries a travelogue by Sharba Ghosh Nath on the Omkareshwar Temple in Madhya Pradesh.
