The December issue of INSITE carries an array of distinguished designers Dipen Gada, Puran Kumar, Hiren Patel and Lotus Design bearing witness to the recurring theme of exposed concrete in contemporary interior spaces. The issue features artist and architect Dominic Dube articulating his artistry in concrete on a residential canvas and the recently designed Artovert design studio in a peri-urban artists’ colony, Kaladham by Anagram Architects. This month, the design duo of SHROFFLEON spotlight their latest project – an extension to a large 60-year-old family home in Mumbai and INSITE brings you a comprehensive overview of ‘THE FREE EDGE: George Nakashima’s Legacy at NID’ event organised by NID. Raw sensual Timeless

Popularly chronicled in the 20th century for its brutal honesty and expression, exposed concrete has always been championed by yesteryear designers. With advancement in technology, revolutionary surface treatments, expansive scale and the ability to merge with a diverse material pallet, concrete is now being used in unexpected and versatile ways.
