The lesser florican (Sypheotides indicus), also known as the likh or kharmore, belongs to the bustard family and is the only member of the genus Sypheotides. The lesser florican is a globally endangered bird that has lost over 90 per cent of its habitat. Sand is vital for a country like India due to its ever-expanding urban population and construction needs. kinds of microplastics present in the waters. The second study, “Risk Assessment of Plastic Pollution to Migratory Species in the Mekong and Ganga River Basins” done for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Convention on
Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) examined the waters at several points of the Mekong and Ganga basins.

Forest owlets are an endemic species to India. They are found only in small pockets of forest patches in India, and nowhere else in the world. The species were thought to be extinct, until a group of scientists rediscovered the species, and then started working on them.
