This year alone, Wordlabs Global will have a total of three customised events focusing on trending topics within the GBS industry â highlighting market opportunities, besides setting the stage for an interaction within the business community to share knowledge.
These are not just one-off events as we are using our media suites to create a backbone for these event to ensure a continued and parallel discussions to constantly capture thought leadership.
Check out the inside pages for more details on these exciting developments.
Meanwhile, in this editionâs Cover Story, CM Vignaesvaran, the Chief Executive of Malaysiaâs Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF), discusses the importance of talent management, and reinforces why leaders need to make it a priority if they want to build world class workforces.
HRDF is mandated to ensure the creation and growth of good human capital in Malaysia â ready to meet the demands of the market while simultaneously strengthening the economic development of the country.
Vicks, as he is popularly known, stresses that it is vital for emerging economies to achieve, enhance and sustain global competitiveness of talents by investing in human capital development.
Not only do companies need to adjust to shifting demographics and workforce preferences, but they must also build new capabilities â while also juggling with evolving technologies and grappling with everincreasing new competitors.
âIf companies are serious about attracting, retaining, and developing good talent, they need to view themselves as growth platforms for these talents.
This, in return, will create a self-reinforcing cycle as talent creates more opportunities for the growth of an organisation too,â he says.
Great products and services ensure competitive advantage for companies, but one advantage that stands the test of time is people.
Great vision without great people is indeed irrelevant. â Sritharan Vellasamy

Welcome to the Global Business Services (GBS) magazine! This publication, formerly known as the Outsourcing, has been rebranded to align accordingly to Wordlabs Globalâs recent restructuring to serve the industry better.
We have made efforts over the months to strategically integrate this publication into our newly established GBS Forum (gbsforum.com) to position and brand Southeast Asia as a region of opportunities within, as well as for other regions too.
The idea is to add further spinoffs and offerings in helping the industry players to tap into global services opportunities and best practices.
Another major intention is also for buyer regions to tap the vast potential of this region within a GBS framework through our media best practices and strategic events.
These are not just one-off events as we are using our media suites to create a backbone for these event to ensure a continued and parallel discussions to constantly capture thought leadership.
Great vision without great people is indeed irrelevant. â Sritharan Vellasamy
