Multi-Purpose Sports Stadium
Architecture + Design|November 2016

Badal is a prominent village in the Muktsar district of Punjab and is developing at a very fast pace.

Multi-Purpose Sports Stadium

Apart from many educational institutions, health centres, and buildings related to agricultural field, the village already had a large multi-purpose sports stadium. The Sports Authority of India is running a Regional Training Centre for budding athletes here. Though the stadium was spread over an area of about 10 acres, it did not have a befitting infrastructure required for national level events. In the year 2012, the Government of Punjab decided to reconstruct the entire stadium so as to provide latest facilities to the trainees of the Sports Authority of India. All the existing structures in the campus, which have outlived their original function, and were in a dilapidated condition were removed to make way for the new construction.
