Istanbul-based duo Autoban reveal the creative process behind Aquarius, their award-winning premiere yacht project.
Past id Design Awards judges, architect Seyhan Özdemir and interior designer Sefer CaÄŸlar – Autoban’s dream team – have again stunned their peers and clients, with a project that has raised the bar for luxury yacht design through the use of their trademark multiple layers.
“Aquarius is a superyacht that is destined to spend almost half of the year on the sea. Therefore warmth and comfort were the driving forces during the design process,” says Özdemir.
Pushing the boundaries with highly meticulous craftsmanship and modern technology, the 45-metre superyacht was built by Turkish yard Mengi Yay Yachts and designed with Autoban’s signature multi-layered architectural narrative. Their ground-breaking vision landed them the honour of winning the Interior Design category at The International Yacht & Aviation Awards 2017, as well as the Power Yacht over 40 m category.
Boasting a sublime combination of sleek contemporary style and innate warmth, the design of the 68 m2 yacht came from the heart.
“The yacht is spread over three full internal decks and an open-air sundeck. The whole yacht was designed as if it’s an entire piece of furniture.
