Black & Gold roadster
Peter Jingryd’s obsession with hot rodding began back in the mid-seventies while he was living in Sweden. He belonged to a car club in his homeland and owned a 1954 Caddy, along with a 1946 Chev, before selling off his possessions and emigrating to Western Australia in 1989.

He was keen to pursue his love of cool old cars and had to fill the need for work transportation, so he purchased a ’67 Chevy Impala. One thing led to another over the years and now he owns eight incredible classics, including a neat ’40 Ford coupe, a ’66 Corvette, an air bagged ’66 Buick LeSabre convertible, a daily driver ’68 Camaro that he’s had for 27 years, three ’51 Chrysler Imperials; a convertible, a two-door hardtop and a four-door sedan, plus this tidy ’33 Ford roadster.

Through rodding circles in Perth, Peter met Les Moran back in the early nineties. Les built this black and gold roadster and eventually traded it in for two paint jobs, one being for his five-window Deuce coupe and the other his ’32 Ford pickup. Peter is also mates with the owner of the panel shop that painted Les’ cars, in fact, Andy at Balcatta Panel and Paint is also Swedish and was in the same car club as Peter before moving to Australia. During a visit to Andy’s shop back in 2013, Peter saw the roadster in primer, awaiting its turn in the booth.
