1928 Model A Ford Roadster Pickup

This Ford Model A roadster pickup was purchased in 2014 as an unfinished project from Melbourne, following an eBay ad. The car had a V6 Commodore engine and a new five-speed manual gearbox and clutch set up fitted. It also had a Camira rack and pinion attached to a dropped axle. After getting the car back to Sydney, the V6/manual setup and steering system was quickly ditched in favour of more hot rod style parts in the form of a Chev V8/Auto transmission and Holden steering box configuration.
With full praise to the original builder, the original chassis is boxed with 5mm plate, beautifully TIG welded, but I then added a double K-member, trans and engine mounts, A HQ Holden steering box and associated parts. The Chassis Engineering four-inch dropped axle that the car came with remained. Also the split front wishbone set up had to go (for easier registration later), in favour of a four bar set up. The front disc hubs are VS Commodore finned calipers doing the front braking. The front chassis spreader bar is an old camshaft.
