Moores ' Model A Tudor
Owner of this magnificent Model A, Jeff Moores grew up with an uncle who had a hot rodded 1933 Ford roadster. He’s always been obsessed with cars and left school at 14 to do a panel beating apprenticeship. The story of his slick ’29 Model A Tudor began with Jeff’s ambition to own a family-sized hot rod, and the purchase of its body shell for $500.00 back in 1999.

The Tudor body was in good condition but was just a shell and needed a lot of parts to complete the build. Another more complete Model A was purchased for immediate use, while Jeff collected the missing pieces for his Tudor and, as is often the case, the project car got put on hold.

“In my younger years I owned two 1957 Chevs that, once restored, ended up being sold to fund my wedding and first home mortgage. Shortly after I purchased the Tudor project, I was able to purchase my Model A pickup that I have been driving and attending hot rod meets in for the past 20 years, thus putting this project on the back burner.”

By 2014 Jeff had amassed a collection of Model A parts that would complete this home-built, all-steel street rod. With help from his mates and fellow Throttlers Rod & Custom club members, Jeff completed this car for approximately $30,000.00.

The chassis under the Model A Tudor had a coupe body mounted to it when Jeff bought it, but it was soon sold off and the Tudor body went on once the frame had been stepped up two inches in the rear and boxed.
