When biking is in your blood, things can change. Take Richard Starbrook, when he had a motocross accident in 2007 in which he broke his back, he decided to give up two wheels, discretion as they say, is the better part of valour. Once off bikes Richard started to get into cars culminating in the purchase of a 227bhp 2007 Honda Integra Type R, his second of that model. Richard runs a window tinting business that was named after the first Integra he’d owned, Tint R. He’s has been tinting glass for twenty years and can apply it to anything from the more regular car windows to those from a conservatory, in fact, anything glass that can fit into his workshop can receive the treatment that come in five different shades.
One thing he didn’t count on, first motorhome. He bought a Transit that featured a storage area for a couple of mountain bikes at the rear. This was handy, but when it comes to van design there’s always a price to pay and in this case, it was the internal space that suffered. Having had caravans over the years, he felt the motorhome would be an upgrade, but instead he found it cumbersome and awkward to drive and as it didn’t have the best layout, it had to go. Shortly afterward, the Type R was involved in an accident when someone drove into the back of it, the insurance company was when one of his good friends showed up at his work with a new two-wheeled purchase, he then proceeded to talk him into having a little go on it. That stirred the old feelings sufficiently for him to amass a collection of some thirteen bikes over a period of time, so much for discretion….
