Please tell us about HSIL’s entry into pipes market.
HSIL launched its pipes business under brand name TRUFLO by Hindware. We decided to venture into household plumbing pipes segment in 2015 to provide integrated solution for home building, enhance customer convenience, facilitate cross-sale and extend the existing building products distribution to the hardware channel distribution chain for the pipes sub-segment.
The recent shift in preference for quality material like CPVC and UPVC prompted us to enter this sector, as it is an extension of our current offerings that enables us to be a front of wall’ to ‘behind the wall’, comprehensive bathroom solution provider.
PVC pipes and fittings market, which comprises of segments such as PVC, UPVC and CPVC, has witnessed a remarkable growth in the past decade and a half, due to increase in demand from the real estate and construction industry. Rising acceptance of CPVC pipes over galvanised or PVC pipes will lead for it to grow faster than the other pipes segment. This trend, size and industry growth attracted us to this business.
HSIL’s main business is into sanitary ware and bath fittings. Can you please tell us pipe division’s contribution in the group’s revenue?
