From training in the bylanes of Mumbai’s Bhindi Bazaar to serving a scrumptious meal to Michael Jackson in Davos, Nilesh Dighe from Goose and Gridiron reveals his entrepreneurial journey and the secret sauce to a Mumbaikar heart.
Tell us about your entrepreneurial journey?
I have been a part of this industry for more than two decades now. I went to Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Mumbai, and later moved to Switzerland to complete my Masters. I came back in 1997, and started Culinary Foods, my catering company, and started catering to Wodehouse Gymkhana. I got my first big break by bagging Willingdon sports club contract. Today, top clubs in Mumbai like Bombay Gym, Radio Club & Catholic gym are under our umbrella. And all this time, I was thinking of starting my own restaurant. Last year, I managed to get hold of a piece of land in Fort and started Goose and Gridiron. We also run an Indian restaurant in Pune.
