Adeeb Ahamed, who heads the Abu Dhabi-based Lulu Group’s organized retail venture Tablez, hospitality arm Twenty14 Holdings and financial services vertical Lulu Exchange, is bullish on Indian retail story. After dabbling in food and beverage, and apparel sector, Ahamed is scratching the toy market in India via franchising under Tablez India brand.

How has been the India growth story for you?

It has been great. We recently launched the first stores of the popular US-brands Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us in India at Bengaluru. Over the past year-and-a-half, we launched several brands across India, including in the F&B and apparel sectors. We have received good acceptance for all these brands and would like to keep the momentum going and expand across the country. We are con dent that India has a lot more to o‚ er and believe that investment opportunities in India are only set to rise.
