A High-Performance Disc For Faster Field-Finish
Farmer's Weekly|June 04, 2021
John Deere recently introduced the new 2680H High-Performance Disc, a tillage instrument designed to cover more ground in less time. It is also easy to hitch and unhitch, and requires less maintenance.
A High-Performance Disc For Faster Field-Finish

The 2680H High-Performance Disc from John Deere offers farmers versatility and speed, says Hein Snyman, tactical marketing planner for maize and soya bean at John Deere Africa and Middle East.

In an article published by John Deere, Snyman is quoted as saying that the implement is a simple, straightforward tool ideal for residue management.

“It can be used to work the field at 16km/h to 18km/h, allowing farmers to get the job done a lot faster.”

A SIZE TO SUIT EVERY FARM

According to John Deere, the A High-Performance Disc For Faster Field-Finish comes in 10 different models to suit small and large farms:

• Three-unit options in the 2,5m to 3,5m range, single section, hitched on three points and able to till 5,6ha/h.

• Three-unit options in the 4,6m to 7,3m range, dual section, with a drawbar hook, and able to till 11ha/h.

• Four-unit options in the 9,1m to 13m range, available with three sections, and able to till up to 21ha/h.

“Farmers should allow for 34,25kW/m when selecting the model they want to use for their farm. By this calculation, I’d recommend a 308kW tractor to pull a 9m disc, or a 445kW tractor to pull a 13m High-Performance Disc,” Snyman is quoted as saying.

FASTER, BETTER TILLAGE

According to John Deere, the HighPerformance Disc effectively manages the residue left behind by wheat, maize, beans, or any other similar crop.
