In a technology dominated world, the term 'work-life balance' is best defined by many as only a myth. Technology has catalysed our lives, and, has brought about a seamless connection between the professional and the personal aspects, and, the competitive environs in which we function makes it rather difficult to celebrate the term, 'work-life balance'. The term 'worklife balance' was first internationally coined in the year 1970, and, soon became a part of the US work force. The changing face of global economies and the increased expectations of the clientele made this term the cynosure in the life of every professional across the globe. If you mull over the term, it applies to the entire hierarchy across the organizational pyramid, and, does not remain restricted to the employees. After all, the man at the helm of things has a life himself, and, needs a well balanced life more than you know! Work-life balance is about efficient management of our professional lives, and, the other side of our lives which matter a lot to us - our personal lives - implying spending time with our families, hobbies, vacations, enhancing our skills for better prospects at work, or, even doing some meaningful work towards society.
