With 67 percent share, private sector with 2.093 mt, suffered 71.8 percent fall. Hot metal production stood at 3.179 mt in April 2020, down by 47.2 percent from April 2019 and by 47.5 percent from March 2020.
With 65 percent share, private sector (2.052 mt, down by 51.7 percent) led hot metal production, compared to the 35 percent contribution of the PSUs.
Finished steel production stood at 1.531 mt in April 2020, down by 82.5 percent from April 2019 and 78.7 percent from March 2020. With 76 percent share, the private sector (1.158 mt, down by 84.3 percent) led production of total finished steel.
