Employees make or break an organisation.
This is pretty much known. They are the driving force, the engine and vehicle for making any given unit chug along. Be it one devoted to manufacturing or servicing is immaterial. But what matters is the employee relationship with the employers.
Of late, we have seen or rather stood witness to a sea change of sorts in this equation – that of employer and employee. Time was, when the employers took on the role of God and played their role like one. They were the top shots, the powers that be, and one had to just go ahead and do whatever it took to make them happy with one’s work. This is changing to quite an extent. For one, there is someone called a Freelancer or a Consultant who has crept into this landscape. So who is this person? They too work for a company or concern, they too charge money for it, and they too, try to do their best for you.
But still, they are different from the norm of any given employee. They are the third breed – the in between of employers and employees. They obviously are not the employer and neither do they fit into the traditional picture of an employee. Whatever be the case, it is a fact that they are present in very large numbers these days. There is a very big chunk of the regular employees who wish to join this bandwagon.
Freelancers seem to have it all…
On the surface of it, freelancers seem to be having it all. They work at their own time, their own pace. In addition, most of them seem to be getting paid very handsomely for what they are doing. They do not have to attend office like regular people – they come and go as they wish. Plus, most of them seem to be travelling the world like no one else does. They get calls for their work which they are good at in the morning from Tokyo and in the evening from Paris. They forever seem to be busy but at the same time have their own share of fun too. Don’t they have it all?
