They say you can tell a lot about a person from their approach to love. So what did we learn going on speed dates and writing Tinder profiles with DESMOND TAN, ROMEO TAN and ZHANG ZHENHUAN?
Shoot, s***, marry: Desmond Tan, Romeo Tan, Zhang Zhenhuan.
Okay, okay, we get that actors aren’t just public figures and mere objects for us to dissect/make them subjects of a game of Shoot S*** Marry like they don’t have feelings. But, hey, we’d do the latter too if we were in a bar with our girlfriends and three tall, strapping hunks saunter in. What more when you’re in the same room as three actors, who, today more than any of the countless times we’ve interviewed them, are all desperately trying to impress like UX geeks on a dating game show.
Well, in fact, they are. Sorta. Consider this the 8 DAYS Great Dating Experiment where we attempt to dig deep into the psyches of Des, Romeo and ZZH. No romantic rendezvous here; just a bunch of journalists trying to figure out if you can indeed find out more about a person through their approach to romance. We know their public personas all too well — Romeo the unassuming boy-next-door, Desmond the devilishly charming method actor, and Zhenhuan the placid performer. But for the purposes of this experiment, we’re pretending we’re hermits who don’t watch TV and have never heard of Ch 8 or Dukes). How will they fare as just regular dudes stripped of their glitzy public personas in a (pretend) speed date?
