Will Rey join the Dark Side? Daisy hints it’s on the cards!

You do, like, eight thwacks one way, eight the other, eight up, eight down,” confesses Daisy Ridley. It’s her second time playing heroine Rey in the Star Wars franchise, and she’s describing how to slay with a lightsaber – something she had plenty of practise with in The Force Awakens. “They’re really heavy,” she says. “Three, four, five kilos?”

Yep, despite all the martial arts training she completed to take on this role, Daisy says they’re not as easy to swing around as they seem...

“The weight’s very unevenly distributed!” she chuckles.

Daisy, 25, has loads to say when we quiz her on lightsabers, but when it comes to deets on The Last Jedi, well, not so much... What we know is that we’ll discover more about who Rey is and where she came from, and that her journey will become a much more emotional one after meeting Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) on Ahch-To Island in 2015’s The Force Awakens.

Yep, apparently things aren’t going Rey’s way as we discover Luke, who’d left his galactic city and attempted to restart the Jedi Order, isn’t exactly welcoming her with open arms.
