Rylan Clark recently admitted he is “building a new me” after being hospitalised last year following his heartbreaking split from husband Dan Neal.

The 33-year-old says he weighed just over 9st at his lowest point after he stopped eating and withdrew himself from work – taking a four-month break from his Radio 2 show and cancelling various TV appearances.

“I needed help,” he admitted last week in a candid interview – the first time he’s opened up since returning to work.

“I didn’t think I’d be here. I didn’t think I could continue,” he said. “I didn’t think I’d actually come back. I was very… gone.”

The reality star, who found fame on The X Factor back in 2012, also admitted that while he loves being in the limelight, he feels he has become more like his on-screen persona than his genuine self in recent years.
