Piers and Susanna reunite on the red carpet

There was fun and laughter at the TRIC Awards as presenters Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid got together again for the first time in six months

All eyes were on former TV partners Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid at the TRIC Awards in London last week as they reunited for the first time since he sensationally quit Good Morning Britain in March.

“It’s emotional, it’s like meeting your ex-wife,” 56-year-old Piers revealed to new as he stood alongside Susanna, 50. “We’ve spent five years together, 4.30 in the morning with the curlers on – not many men get to see Susanna Reid like that.”

Despite the banter, there was tension in the air as the pair went head-to-head in the category for News Presenter, which was awarded to Piers.

Before his victory, he told us from the red carpet, “It’s obviously a bit tense, isn’t it? It’s what they call in Twitter speak ‘hashtag awks’, because if I was to lose it would be another hammer blow after a difficult year, and if Susanna was to lose I’d feel it would be another hammer blow for her.”
