‘I WANT TO GIVE YOU A BIG CUDDLE!'

AN EMOTIONAL DUCHESS OF CAMBRIDGE COMMEMORATES ARMISTICE DAY

It was a busy time for the Duchess of Cambridge last week as she marked Armistice Day by attending a series of emotional engagements. On Wednesday she was at the launch of the Imperial War Museum’s Second World War and Holocaust Galleries in London, where she was reunited with two Holocaust survivors whom she had previously photographed.

Kate, 39, took pictures of Steven Frank BEM and Yvonne Bernstein alongside their grandchildren back in January 2020 as part of a photo memorial put together to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the Holocaust.

Her photographs are now part of an exhibition at the Imperial War Museum called Generations: Portraits of Holocaust Survivors, and Kate was clearly thrilled to be reunited with her subjects last week.

Once again showing her caring side, the mum-of-three hugged Steven as she greeted him at the exhibition and exclaimed, “Hello! I want to give you a big cuddle!”

She also threw her arms around Yvonne and held hands with the grandmother as she chatted to her, alongside her granddaughter.

After her visit, Steven said that the down-to-earth duchess was interested in “talking with my grandchildren and in what they had to say. She was asking about how they are and their schools”.
