It’s hard to believe Drew Barrymore’s first major film role was as a child in ET The Extra-Terrestrial. Now the 45-year-old is a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild and BAFTA-winning star.

She’s been pictured next to former president, Ronald Reagan, back in 1984, and danced on the table during an infamous interview with David Letterman in 1995. For the granddaughter of actor John Barrymore, life is as eventful as many of her movies.

But for the child born into the heart of show business, perhaps Drew’s most public story has been the tabloid revelations of drug and alcohol abuse, which sadly led to her finding herself in rehab at the age of just 13. “I pushed the limits a lot, many different times in my life. And I’m very lucky, I know that. I tested, I pushed, probably too far many a time,” she revealed of her tumultuous days, something she talks about in her autobiography, Little Girl Lost – which was released in 1990.
