We may know her best for her portrayal of stunning socialite Sable Colby in 80s soap opera Dynasty and its spin-off show The Colbys, but these days Stephanie Beacham prefers to hang out in chunky boots rather than sky-high stilettos.
That’s not to say the iconic actress, 74, has forgotten how to ramp up the glamour. As OK! teams up with the star for a Hollywood-style shoot, Stephanie looks every inch the screen siren – and she tells us she had a blast.
“You can’t go through so many years on American soap operas without knowing about clothes,” she explains. “This shoot is just oozing glamour and fun. Don’t you like that silly one where I’m sitting on a mantelpiece? I might be 75 in February, but that’s just a number – I’m still a kid!”
Stephanie has been in this business for nearly 60 years and we could spend hours listening to her reminisce about Tinseltown.
From going on a date with Marlon Brando, to being taught about lighting from Ava Gardner and being saved from social embarrassment by Sir Anthony Hopkins, Stephanie is the epitome of old-school Hollywood fame.
Still, the star, who now lives in London, admits to us that she’s never enjoyed A-list parties and is much more at home around children. She prefers to spend time with her two daughters from her previous marriage, Phoebe, 47, and Chloe, 44, fiancé Bernie Greenwood, 81, and 21-year-old grandson, Jude.
Here, Stephanie talks us through her amazing career and why we’ll never catch her in sweatpants…
Hi Stephanie. You’ve been in the business for nearly six decades and worked with so many people. Do you have any highlights?
