Royal Seal Of Approval: ‘We Must Inspire The Next Generation'

The duke and duchess of cambridge highlight their green credentials at an educational event ahead of the earthshot prize

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were in their element at Kew Gardens last Wednesday for the educational Generation Earthshot event. They met with children to discuss environmental challenges connected to the Earthshot Prize, a climate change initiative launched jointly between Prince William and Sir David Attenborough in 2020.

The royal couple were joined by Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, TV presenter Steve Backshall and his wife, double Olympic rowing champion Helen Glover, as they participated in activities with children from The Heathland School in Hounslow. The royal pair, both 39, discussed generating big, bold ideas to repair the planet in the hope of sparking a lasting enthusiasm for the natural world in the younger generation.

Kate looked at ease with the children, discussing their thoughts on the topic and smiling as they all appeared fully engaged in the conversation. Meanwhile, William used an Ant-Man figurine to talk to another group of students in a bid to encourage them to use superhero powers to save their world.
